In 1993, Jose Auriemo Neto began working for JHSF Participacoes, which is considered to be one of Brazil’s most prominent real estate companies, and he later became its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 2003. He founded the JHSF services department within the company by starting and running a parking lot management business called Parkbem in 1997. Since being in a leadership role in the company, he has managed to acquire several partnership agreements with high-end designer brands such as Hermes, Valentino and Jimmy Choo, whose stores he introduced to Brazil by opening up a retail outlet in the Cidade Jadrim Shopping Center that featured products from these brands.
Before joining JHSF, Jose Auriemo Neto received his business training from Fundacao Armando Alvares Penteado University, which is located in the city of Sao Paulo. While at the school, he took courses in Engineering and Business Administration. Being that real estate is a rapidly growing industry in Brazil, he felt that it would provide good investment opportunities such as shopping centers, hotels, residential properties and retail outlets, all of which JHSF has bought over the years, the Cidade Jadrim Shopping Center being one of their most popular owned properties that houses the stores that carry some of the most sought-after designer brands.
JHSF first came into operation decades ago in 1972 when two brothers, Fabio and Jose Roberto Auriemo, started it along with two other partners. It was initially called JHS, but the company was eventually split into 2 businesses in 1990, and one of the brothers, Fabio, took over the responsibility for its real estate division. The company is currently worth an estimated $3 billion, and it has operations not only in Brazil, but in the U.S. and Uruguay. Jose Auriemo Neto has been a member of its Board of Executives since March of 2009.
